Mark Briggs, CSP

Mark Briggs co-founded Safety Management Resources Corporation (SMRC) in 1994.  He has extensive risk management and safety experience assisting organizations in identifying   and efficiently addressing opportunities for improvement.   Mark's clients include those in higher education, general contractors, specialty contractors, manufacturers, the service industries, and the insurance industry.  

Mark works successfully with all organizational levels to develop and implement effective safety and risk management programs, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and consensus standards, moving beyond mere compliance with governmental regulations. These efforts are incorporated into the organizational culture at all levels to increase operational effectiveness, eliminate employee injuries and property losses, and continually improve the reputation of the enterprise.

Mark's areas of expertise include strategic planning, the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives, providing comprehensive assessments of risk management and safety efforts, development of construction site safety plans, and the development of effective training programs. He also provides expert witness services and has testified in Circuit, State, and Federal Courts throughout the country.

Mark has a passion for delivering educational and motivational keynote speeches and training sessions, while having a bit of fun and sharing a laugh along the way. He's known for smashing watermelons, tempting participants to snatch a one-hundred dollar bill from a loaded rat trap, and engaging his audience in countless ways, always while delivering an important and unforgettable message.
